Hi all
My kids are using 1 X box series s at the moment and they are getting less good at sharing so the obvious answer seems to be to get another one.
I'm wondering how it works in terms of accounts and the game pass, can I have 2 consoles on the same account using the same game pass ?

Yes, apologies I don’t have a link as to how to do it, but from memory it’s on the Xbox website.

Takes about 5 mins to sort.

We did the same thing about 5 years ago. Bought a used one from Music Magpie, it’s been faultless.

We have that set up here. Set up a 2nd game account for the other child, but have both profiles on each Xbox. Then set the xbxo without the game pass account as the primary account, as the home Xbox

They should both then have use of game pass, but I think only the main Xbox can use the cloud gaming facility

Example:
Mine is the main Xbox with the game pass account
My son has his in his room. I logged into it, set the Xbox as the home one and hey presto!
I believe you can then logout of that console and it should still work

Similar issue in our house.

My two are using my original log in on my Xbox One to play fifa and fortnite. I think they may have set their own profile but it’s based on my login.

If I was to purchase a second Xbox would it be possible to continue using one Xbox game pass (I think that’s what it’s called!) on both consoles?

It’s so over complicated nowadays, I’d love to be able to monitor and restrict their use but have found it impossible, to the point that I end up hiding the power lead when they get too excited and twitchy from playing too much

(Yes I’m a st parent)

Thanks

Quick recap question:
Two Xboxes, one annual payment to MS, both can play fifa and fortnite online and independently - is this possible with one payment to MS and also for FIFA?

Thanks

It is certainly possible to have one gamepass on more than one console. However, I think the stumbling block is that only one person can be playing at a time. If 2 people want to play at the same time on 2 separate consoles then you will need 2 accounts, as far as I can tell.

Online or offline? I think it is possible for 2 to play offline but not for both to play online.

Do this with my wife and my setup so we share all the games I've bought on one account and the Gamepass subscription.

Account A with Gamepass subscription
Account B with no Gamepass subscription

Console 1 set as "home" console with account A as the owner account. Any profile using this console will be able to access content and subscriptions of Account A and can use them offline. Use Console 1 for Account B.

Then use Console 2 as Account A's console.
Account A can access their stuff from any console as long as they are connected to the internet from the console (and I think is still be accessible for additional accounts signing in as long Account A remains signed in and connected).

I've been doing it for the last year with my son. Both use it at the same time, never an issue

It's 2024......who plays games offline? biglaugh
