I was wondering if anyone could shed any thoughts on what to do with my daughters pc as it wont start.

There is power getting to the pc as the blue light turns on, the onboard fan on the motherboard is spinning and the dvd draw opens, however that is it.

The screen wont turn on, i have tried an hdmi and vga cable on 2 different screens and neither the usb mouse or keyboard are showing lights and i have tried these in 6 different usb slots.

Any helpnwould be appreciated

Could be a failed drive. Is it an SSD or HDD in there?

If you have another PC, then you could download a copy of the Windows bootable installer / or Linux Live to a USB and try that

https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/window...

https://www.linuxliveusb.com

If that doesn't boot then it could be a failed motherboard, RAM, CMOS battery...but if you can't even get into the BIOS...you'd have to go into a process of reseating / swapping out / completely replacing items.

Failing, or failed PSU?

It's putting out one voltage, ie 12V but the 5V output is no longer working?

SD.

What are we talking here? Desktop or Laptop?

Usually the boot sequence starts with the CPU talking to the BIOS then storing data in RAM, so if you're not even getting the monitor/screen to do anything it could be a RAM problem. If it's not beeping then it sounds like its failing there, which would make me think either CPU or RAM problem.

I'm going with this too . . .
Take it apart & pull out the PSU & consider replacing with a similar spec or more powerful PSU that will fit in the same space.

Suddenly I am getting pop up adverts on yahoo mail on my I pad, I have Adblock plus switched on and have tried all the options given from google. Cleared all cookies several times and pop ups blocked in safari. The adverts do not load blocked by ad blocker but they show up in inbox

Anybody have any ideas? If I see another advert for a Volvo x60 or toilet paper I will scream!

I'd imagine the ads for the Volvo and loo roll are closely linked.

That is the two ads I am complain about, especially the loo rolls, quite disgusting.

Tried everything just cannot stop them use ad block plus but it still does not stop them.

Although the thought of driving a Volvo is equally insulting smile apologies to Volvo owners

Agreed. No beeps means no POST which is either something terminal or RAM or CPU failed/seated incorrectly.

Well, no beeps means no PC speaker, which isn't unusual. It's inconclusive.

But no POST video output means something fairly fundamental has gone wrong. Really the fault needs isolating further by removing or replacing components & connections down to the minimum set.

Not all PCs beep, so that’s not conclusive at all. However, all should display the bios information and provide boot options as standard. If you’re not even seeing this, I’d suggest there’s a problem with GPU.
