having managed to cock-up my Samsung Galaxy 3 watch on holiday (stupidly thought that waterproof meant just that - a waterpark has shown me the error of my thinking!) I'm on the lookout for a decent(ish!) smart-watch. Budget £250/£300 - obviously prefer lower

Whilst I did like the Samsung I (illogically) feel a little let down by it and so am a little reticent to buy another. Looking around it does seem to me that the Huawei makes a decent case for itself, not least with the 7-14 day battery life which is useful if you forget to recharge all the time! As much as I'd rather not buy Chinese (yes, I know, I'm illogical given that most other non-Chinese brands are also built there) I think that reality and practicality needs to also be thought of so....

as far as I can see one of the major downsides is no NFC payment ability - not an issue for me as I've never use it, and can't see me changing any time soon (old fossil!). The aps are a little clunky, but given I'm likely to only scratch the surface of the watch's abilities:

- heart-rate monitor;
- sleep monitor;
- blood=pressure (possibly);
- calory calculator (exceedingly slim possibility)

I do question if that's going to be an issue. Don't have any Apple products so that pretty much counts out the Apple watch. Any thoughts anyone?
