Usb C to 2 x 4k monitors - can it be done?

Have a Surface Pro 7+ 16gb i7 1TB with a single USB C and and want the cheapest way to get two 4k monitors to run at 3840 x 2160. Any thoughts?

Mini display port to Hdmi didnt output to 3840 x 2160 in the old Surface Pro, so not sure if USB C can output to one or even two HDMI or two display port cables at this resolution.

Will it need a dock of some sort assuming a two output HDMI cable isnt available. I know display port can do this resolution, but would like to retain the older Toshiba Dock if I can.

It works on my Surface Pro, I've used both a Lenovo dock, and now an HP docking station.

Both have been able to output to 2x 4k 27" monitors
