16” laptop backpack

Looking to see if anyone has any recommendations for the above which will fit within the Ryanair “rules” - of 40x20x25.

If you HAVE to use Ryanair, then I'd go for Priority Boarding ... this gives you a second cabin bag for the overhead locker @ 55x40x20cm

Personally, I'd rather walk than use Ryanair

For the laptop bag ... I've had a Wenger for years which still looks like new despite having been dragged around the world a good few times.

Don't have a 16" laptop to hand but does it physically fit the Ryanair size limit without a bag?

Just measured my HP Envy 15.6 and it would only just be accepted "naked" ...

I bought a nordace about 3 years ago, starting to show a bit of wear but it has been well used every day.

The only cons are it has so many pockets I’ve only just got used to it.

16" is 40.64cm so not sure how you imagine you're going to fit that in a bag that's max 40x25x25. Maybe some kind of Transformers mass displacement getup?

Mine is 39cm x 27cm, so not much hope of complying with that stupidly small size bag limit really.

Pretty much every time I've been to an airport there is at least one person doing the "I can make it fit" challenge with the bag estimator things. Doesn't really help with a laptop though.

Maybe 16" is the screen diagonal measurement?
