I have just bought a new Mac Mini M2. It's running Sonoma 14.2 public beta. Whilst it prints perfectly, getting the scanner to send to the computer doesn't work with the SMB protocol. I can't get thescanner and printer to recognise each other when I test the connection, although the Kyocera web based mangement page show ink levels and the contents of the printers address book.I hve uninstalled and reinstalled the latest print software.

I have spoken to Apple support who cant fix it and tell me its the beta software. Not sure thats the case, as my 2019 27 inch imac with the same O/S worked fine on monday!

Has anyone else had this isue?

Have you tried following this?

Just for your own printer.

I think you need to turn on file sharing, make a folder to put the files in, then allow the printer access to it.

You possibly need to set up part of this on the printer, putting in a username and password for it to connect to the mac.

This is an old video but should give you an idea of what you are trying to achieve, just with more modern menus.

I'm not sure what model of printer you have but you could try searching for info on adding a share to that model number.

If you have it still, check your iMac to see how that was set up in the same manuals too.
