My lads Motorola G31 has developed a blank screen, I can feel the vibrations when pressing the buttons on the side, so the phone is 'alive' as it were.

However, a new phone is £130, and it appears that a replacement screen is £100, so I may as well get a new phone? Or could it be repaired for half that?

Would it be worth claiming on house insurance? Or will it be cheaper in the long run just to suck it up?

Ive held down the power button for 1min, and then power + volume button for a minute but the screen remains blank. Are there any other tricks I could try?

TIA

Are you sure the brightness simply isn’t on zero?.. I’ve had that before !

Thanks SJC, but just checked and it doesn't look like it.

Son said that he hadn't dropped it (hmmmm.....), although to be fair there aren't any cracks on the screen at all.

Sounds like the screen has given up, any of your bank accounts got gadget insurance on them?

For a £130 phone, I would just replace it. If you change the screen you still have an old battery etc.

It's better to replace it on that price

I'm guessing you've charged it and it's not just a flat battery........ there's a video on YouTube that gives various options for a blank screen on a Moto G, don't know if they'll help but worth a shot

Have you tried calling it to see if that brings the screen to life?
