Anyone have a homepod 2 and use Spotify?

Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade my sons Bose small bluetooth speaker for his birthday and as he's an apple fanboy I thought this
might be up his street but he uses Spotify as his music source.
Just having a look around on youtube, it looks like apple version 17 has made it simpler to use.

Has anyone got any real world knowledge of using spotify on the Homepod? ie: is it easy to connect or a pain in the @rse and i should be looking at Sonus.
