Friend of mine has a Reolink cctv in his shop with only one hdmi output, but would like to split this to two monitors.

We have looked on Amazon and there are some powered ones for around £20 and the reviews seem favourable but is there anything else we should look at that maybe is a bit more robust?

Are we over thinking it?

HDMI spliter off amazon would be my choice if it's just the same feed on to 2 different monitors that are within cable range of the box.

Otherwise HDMI over CAT 5 if one of the monitors is remote.

make sure the 2 screens have the same resolution and the cables are all the same version otherwise you can get handshake issues but yes the cheap splitters work well - kenable i think i have used before

Thanks both.

Probably should have mentioned that one would connect with a 5m hdmi that’s existing but the other would be about 10-12m away so this one could benefit from being over cat5 as this is already in place.

So, would the two different methods work with a splitter or should both monitors be connected over hdmi- cat 5 from the splitter?

if its 1080p then 10m hdmi should work fine, had a couple of issues when using 4k player to 1080p display and atmos (so loads of data) but mostly fine - no experience of cat4/5 - hdmi converters/splitters though
