2.5gb network card

I’m just looking for a 2.5gb compatible network card for the box most likely running opnsense.
The x550-t2 would be ideal but somewhat expensive and possibly quite a few fakes.
So the x520-da 1 or 2 is a reasonable choice but also seemingly faked abit.
However it will take a transceiver that is 1, 2.5, 5 and 10gb capable. So should work, around £25-£40, plus a £40-£50 transceiver.
Or a similar price for a Mellanox ConnectX-3 of which there seem to be a few different models, however i’m mot sure if they will be happy at 2.5gbs.
Obviously the cards i’m looking at are 2nd hand and will be left on 24/7 once setup.
Any experience with the cards and in an opnsense/pfsense setting with a VM hub 5 would be appreciated .
