That isn’t the usual plug-in type - I’ve looked high and low. Ie 240v ac to 9v dc for a cctv camera. There are loads of plug in ones but I want one that I can wire directly (within a junction box obviously) to power the camera.

I can’t understand why there aren’t loads available.

I could open the plug in type and separate from the plug, which I might have to do I suppose.

I know this too is a plugin type but I presume you mean the cubes that you plug in. Any use to you?

I have one of these powering a Ring doorbell https://www.toolstation.com/transformer/p29865 . It's rated 8V but actually outputs about 10V, should do the job unless the CCTV is particularly voltage sensitve.

Thanks both, I only need a tiny amount of amps so the pc one is way too big. The toolstation one might do.

I was imagining finding something like

Or this type often used for led lights. But no 9v anywhere!

Any good with a soldering iron and some Veroboard? If yes, something like this might be suitable.

That's an AC transformer. It won't convert a 230v AC input to a DC output, not without rectification on the output.

If its something off the shelf that you'd like to wire in then there's plenty of 9v SMPS module options out there,to suit a multitude of requirements .

Use a 12v transformer. I doubt an extra 3v will blow it up.

A couple of options below that might be worth checking out. These two I think are the biggest of the specialist electronics suppliers left.

Are you sure it is 9V? All the cameras I have ever installed have been 12vDC.

How many amps do you need? As above look at CPC.

Agreed - or maybe it’s 5v and will take up to 9v unregulated.

o/p please provide details of the camera.

TP-link, yes according to specs 9v. I haven’t actually measured it but will when I get a chance

Adapter Input
100-240VAC, 50/60Hz, 0.3A
Adapter Output
9.0V/0.6A (DC Power)

It has it in the Hardware section on following page but also on the actual adapter!

As mentioned earlier in the thread it's a power supply (or at least a transformer with rectifier/AC-DC converter) that you need.

Maybe something like this?

You wont find 9V led drivers as LED's aren't 9v, usually 5v, 12v 24v if using constant voltage.

Ive ordered plenty of Power supplies from aliexpress for LED's etc, you might wait a bit (much quicker these days than it used to be) id recommend meanwell if you want a enclosed PSU more expensive but excellent quality.

If you want a bare board youll find that too - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004614043467.h...

Which bit didn't i read? The fact he wants to wire it into a junction box? You get an IP66 waterproof enclosure and put the brick inside it, run t&e cable to the junction box, cut the 13a plug off and wago it to the tail.
