Hi all, I have a problem which has been annoying me for ages and I've never got the answer to, so before I give it up for a bad job I thought I'd ask on here.

I use a Macbook Pro and have thousands of family videos going back years. I've always used Quicktime to play them as this seems to be the easiest software for 'Airplaying' to my Apple TV (although I have Chromecast and Firestick if someone suggests a better solution to playing them on the TV)?

So to my problem and it's basically around inconsistency with Quicktime. Most of the files are mainly in .mov file formats (some are mp4), But sometimes there is a slow motion element during middle section of the video which I cannot get rid of. I've taken some screenshots below. The first 8 seconds and the last 8 seconds are normal speed, but the middle section goes into slow motion (they weren't taken with any slow motion, and when played with another app (like VLC) they are normal speed throughout. This problem also seems to stop the Airplay button being shown for some reason.

(playback with Airplay button visible (.mov file format))

If I slide the sliders to one side, I can get it to play all the way through at normal speed, but it makes me save it as a new file, and then when opened again, the slow motion is back! There's no way to get rid of it.

Does anyone have any suggestions and thanks in advance for any help.
