How to get a hacked FB account back.

Whilst abroad my FB account has been hacked and disabled.

All my contact details were changed by the hacker and I didn't get anything from FB warning me that something was happening with it.

It appears from what the Mrs and friends have seen my account has completely disappeared from FB.

I've had the account for many years and would quite like to get it back up and running. Nothing I've tried has had any success due to the fact that all my contact details have been removed from the account and all attempts to retrieve it result in a dead end.

Any ideas on who/what/where to go to resurrect it would be appreciated.

Haven't you had an email from them saying 'your email address was changed, click here if it wasn't you'?

It could be in your spam?

Nope, and therein lies the problem. Now any attempt to login my email and phone numbers no longer have any link to an account.

Yup tried all that, nothing works. It's as if the account never existed.

Sounds as though the email address the OP signed up with has not been checked, as FB always send out warnings.

I have two accounts, and I get regular notifications about attempted password resets etc.

Account security is the one thing FB actually seem to manage really well.

As far as I can recall, the account is at least 15 years old with the same email and phone number that was used to set it up.
Was hoping someone here might have a contact or email address that would circumvent or get past all the automated help that doesn't work.

We had our business Facebook page hacked a couple of years ago and was never able to get it back. 6 months of emails got us absolutely nowhere and we ended up setting up another one

Do you have another device that will remember your account, even if you can't log in?
When my account was taken last year there was a link somewhere on there to recover the account. I needed to submit copies of ID, and again to clear the 2Factor authentication they set up. (I thought I had that already before they got in.) Once it was back with my details, login was still frozen for a few days. I was lucky I caught it as it was happening and hit the 'Wasnt me...' link from the email alerts. You should have those somewhere. If I remember correctly there was something mentioned about being able to use former email addresses to recover so a chance there even if the hackers have changed it.

Do you know your account has been hacked rather than removed by facebook?

If you have been hacked, are you certain that your email hasn't been compromised, enabling the facebook compromise and then the hacker cleaned up after themselves?

Had the same. Got an email saying the email address has been changed and then another one saying the phone number has been changed so I totally lost control as any form of recovery went to the different email address and the different phone number.

I reported it and tried to get friends to help recovery but nothing was successful. They then changed a setting to make my account invisible when searching for it.

I managed to get a message out to all contacts to say account hacked and to delete etc.

I ended up starting a new account but I`m not on it hardly at all so it was an inconvenience at best. However , just recently my old account popped up as "someone you might know" on my feed , which is strange.

Reported it all again to FB but never heard anything back from them.

Account is on a laptop at home so will see if that gets me anywhere when I get back tomorrow.
Email address seems ok, I changed the password the day of the hack and had nothing untoward happen on it since but cannot find any warning email anywhere from FB.

Not hopeful of getting it back.
