Trooli install
Discussion
More than a year after placing an order for Trooli to be installed, they finally arrived this afternoon
Only issue is that we we had a porch built and the last 0.5m of the BT duct coming to the house is now under concrete
They're going to do a quote for the civils work to sort it but I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this, how much they might charge and importantly, how they'll take?
I was listening in to the guys conversation with the other engineer and his boss on the ring camera and he said they cover the first £600 but not sure how true this is.
I might be wrong but I suspect they'll find the duct easily if they lift the block paving right next to the new front door and dig a little but I may be oversimplifying it!

Ours comes in via telegraph pole, but had been broken for over two years with openreach not bothering to repair it.
Trooli installed a new pole so that they could connect to the last known working one and then newly cabled us and the other houses affected.
Great service, and good to finally be off 4G.

Not sure how they’ll do it, but what I will say is they have been excellent since we moved to them. They did a very quick install and their customer service has been nothing short of brilliant for the year we’ve been with them. I keep getting free months too as the neighbours are all signing up.
Things moved on slightly on Friday - they asked to come back as they said they didn't get enough info to do a quote...
Engineer turns up, takes lots of photos and says they'll be in touch. I noticed them talking outside for a while so though I'd be cheeky and ask how many beer tokens it would take for them to do it straight away as it was pretty ovbious they'd probably find the duct quite quickly. They said they'd speak to their boss and if they came back, we were on!
Anyway, 30 mins later they're back pulling up a few blocks near the front door and they find the duct
They then started to run the cable. The duct turns left out of our front door and under our neighbours front garden before it gets to the path and the DP in the pavement.
Turns out the duct has collapsed under the neighbours front garden, under the grass
Neighbours are amazing and gave permission straight away for them to dig it up to fix it! So now waiting for a date for them to come back.
Best news of all is that Trooli are paying because it's not on our land!
Fingers crossed it will all get sorted soon.

All sorted
They came to do the digging on Monday and worked out that the duct doesn't follow a completly straight line to the house and the blockage was under the path so went away to get a permit to dig that bit. I thought that this would take weeks but no!
They turned up the next day, dug up the path and sorted the duct.
Engineer then came back this morning and pulled the fibre and completed the install. Speedtest currently sitting at 800/300
I have to say the Trooli service activation team comms were excellent and the engineer really helpful. Defo recommended!

I was lucky when I got Trooli, they wanted to put to the front of the house from a telegraph pole but my network kit was in the middle. I got them to pass it through the eaves while I climbed all over the loft installation and passed it into my network room where they fitted the fibre box.
Not fun at the time but far more useful to me. Just come to the end of the first 18 months, they got rid of the 300 now, so need to decide if to go down to 150 or up to 500. £5 either way.

I was the first to get full fibre in our village in 2020. I can't fault the service. Not fun at the time but far more useful to me. Just come to the end of the first 18 months, they got rid of the 300 now, so need to decide if to go down to 150 or up to 500. £5 either way.
Came to the end of our contact recently and they price matched Vodafone's 900/300 so only paying 40 quid a month was £86 at first! Ring them up and they'll price match to compare the market etc on the day.
As for the original install they were happy to move the line to a different part of the house.
I have been using Trooli 900/300 for quite a while.
It took a while for the install to happen as there was an issue in the village that needed permission (I was one of the first in the area) and then found that the BT ducting was full of dirt (I live a the bottom of a slope).
They dug up the duct and repaired the mess afterwards to a high standard.
The service has been faultless so far.
I have even managed to replace their router with a proper OPNSense firewall (but they will not help non-businesses to do this)

I’ve been trying to get the PPPoE login from my router but getting stuck at the login. I ssh engineer@192.168.1.1 and get a password prompt but it won’t accept the password on the sticker on the router. I’m trying the admin password and WiFi network password to no avail.
Am I missing something?
