I'm looking to buy a refurb Pixel 5 phone. Reasons are size/cost/os etc.

Who are the good sellers please?

I’ve used Music Magpie in the past for phones for the kids without issue. The phones we’ve received have looked brand new.

I've purchased 2 iphone 13PM (like new) from Giffgaff last year, didn't come in the original box but came with a sim tool and charging cable. They were exactly as described with 100% battery health. I believe you get 21 days to change your mind and anywhere between a 12 and 24 month warranty.

I'd definitely buy from them again.

I've never had any trouble with CEX and you can at least go down to a shop if there is an issue.

This. Their grade A criteria are really strict if you want something that looks pretty much brand new. 2 year warranty from them too. I got my iPad Pro from there, saved about £100 off Apple refurbished price.

I've used them myself several times, they describe the condition of the phones accurately and you get a warranty as well.

I have just bought a Pixel 6 Pro from Backmarket for £349.

It arrived yesterday well packed and in immaculate condition, as new, ready to be set up with on screen instructions. Delivery was just two days.

I liked their website and the method of choosing a phone. The phones come with a 12 months warranty apparently.

I used Back market. The phone arrived in great condition on the front ,quite scratched on the back. It was sold as their top grade . It was not well packed and was dispatched by what they described as one of their trusted partners,
Phone works fine and despite a call to them when it arrived they were not interested in the rear cover of the phone said is was not a factor of the grading ? I have a neutral view of the experience, price was good for what I ordered.
What did most pi## me off is the constant e mails after the event with poorly written content . For some reason took a few attempts to unsubscribe.
They have a lot of choices for phones the prices for less current models is good .

I bought a second hand phone for one of my kids from CEX that stopped working almost at the end of the 2 year warranty. By that time it was a relatively old phone selling for peanuts, but I was refunded the full price I'd paid (I suppose they would have repaired it if possible).

Thanks everyone. I've used backmarket and Amazon for refurbs in the past. Not even thought of CEX.

Just waiting for the man-maths justification to fall into place!

I'm using Pixel 3a and only wanting to change to improve the switching to wifi calling, which is bit intermittent on the 3a.

Used giffgaff and they were a good price and selection, like new, except - twice had to return them due to poor battery life. No issues from their end just a bit of a faff, these were iphones which I think might be more shonky on the battery front generally.

I used Reboxed for iphones for my parents (11s and 12s) - I did use musicmagpie originally but the devices sent were shocking and heavily damaged so returned them and opter for Reboxed instead and they were cheapre and to a much higher standard.

I also ordered a refurb "As New" Pixel 7 Pro for myself from O2 directly a couple of months back and this arrived with a massive chip out of the frame so that went back too.

Not sure if MobilePhonesDirect (owned by AO) do handset only but their refurb devices are always excellent too.

Amusing how people are referring to used second-hand phones as 'refurbished' - unless you think that doing a factory reset equates to a 'refurbish'.

With genuine parts or back street shop parts - if the latter, then it isn't exactly a selling point.

It's not what you erroneously claimed however.

So one supplier replaces some of the broken parts on some of their phones with back street parts, and all the rest of the phones sold by that supplier and the other suppliers are 'refurbished' by having a factory reset.

Nope, I think my point stands.
