I've just started getting the above error in Firefox for ALL websites - Chrome and Internet Explorer work OK (although weirdly, Brave also seems to be having issues - just says 'site can't be reached' ). Other stuff (eg Outlook) is connecting fine.

I'm using a Cat5 cable straight into the back of the Virgin Media router (in modem mode). But I've also tried wifi with no success.

I'm not using any kind of VPN

I use Kaspersky AV (It's not this - I disabled it for a few seconds to check)

I've cleared the Firefox cache, done a Firefox refresh - nothing makes a difference.

Even running Firefox in Safe Mode doesn't stop the error.

I've been using Firefox for many years without issue and would like to continue - I've run out of ideas - any suggestions?

PS - I have a work PC connected via Cat5 to the same router and Firefox works fine

UPDATE - I tried running Firefox in troubleshooter mode and safe mode - neither worked.

In the end, I uninstalled it and reinstalled and now its working fine - weird....

Update - I still need some help....

If I uninstall and reinstall Firefox, it will work for that session. If I close Firefox and re-open it, it throws the same message for all websites and won't work again until I uninstall and reinstall.

Brave browser also won't connect, but Chrome and Edge both work just fine.

I've tried ethernet cable and wifi - makes no difference.

Other apps that use t'internet are fine - Outlook connects OK, OneDrive works fine, antivirus updates as normal.

I'm not using a proxy server or a VPN. IPv6 is disabled. Firefox is in the 'allowed' list in my Kaspersky whitelist.

I'm properly stumped with this one - any suggestions?

Firstly, if everything else is working, then the problem is with the way Firefox is sitting on your operating system, rather than anything network related.

As for what it could be... Pass.

How familiar are you with Event Viewer? Looking at the logs might give you an idea of where to dig next.
