Apple Id across devices

Hmm, I've encountered a problem with my Apple Id. I changed my Apple Id password a few weeks ago on my Macbook Air and all was OK as could use the new password on the iPhone, Ipad and Air but I just went to do some updates on my iMac and it won't accept that the password entered is the correct one. Anyone encountered anything like this?

It’s asking for your local account password (admin password) to install an update, not the iCloud password you changed.
