Need some advice from you tech gurus...
So I switched from BT to another company for fibre and they gave me a Fritz! Router (?). Seem to be having Wi-Fi issues (connection disappears) ever since and wondered if these routers are not rubbish or if it could be something else?
If it is a garbage router, any suggestions for a reasonable replacement? Just need to surf the net, nothing fancy!
Thanks

Zen? They inisit on using it, but IME it was a bit st. If you are on FTTP it has the modem built in, so unless you buy an equivalent with a router built in then you are somewhat stuck with the Fritz Box - however you can use it simply as a modem and buy a different system (such as netgear Orbi) for the wifi, and simply run a cable from the Fritz to the Orbi's "Internet" port and use it for WiFi.
Thanks for the responses, correct it was a switch to Zen for gaming latency reasons.
I have fibre straight through to premises (or whatever it is called).
My iPad and iPhone simply don’t see the network on occasions and that never happened with BT. Also with BT I could easily get a signal in my garage but that doesn’t seem to be possible now.
Thinking I might need something that gives off a more powerful signal.

Try manually setting the WiFi channel. It has a channel scan function in the settings that will show you how congested each band is. For 5Ghz set to 36 or 44, higher channels might be running into dfs issues. For 2.4ghz set to 1, 6 or 11 depending on which is the least congested and make sure it isn’t set to a lower power level if range is the issue.
