Got an Alexa device in most rooms. Each device is assigned to a group (named after the room), and lights, plugs, etc. are added to the correct group. All been working fine for several months.

This morning, the Echo Show in my lodger's room wouldn't turn off her bedside light.

After much fiddling, found out that everything works fine from the Alexa app, but her Echo Show is actually controlling the bedside light in my room if I use voice commands

Tried rebooting, deleting and recreating the group. No difference. Even tried creating a completely new group with a different name.

I switched off her Echo, added a spare Echo Dot to her room group, and that works fine. Looks like, for whatever reason, her Echo thinks it's in the wrong group, and I can't change it.

Try removing the Echo from the group then readd it.

Worked for me when I had something similar.
