  • Ignore, resolved**
Morning

I've bought a new laptop and am trying to add my work and personal email addresses to it.

I have 2 hotmail addresses and the first was added easily, when I came to add the second, for whatever reason it went wrong and now, when I try to add it again, it says it's already there.

Apologies for the basic description, I'll grab some screenshots to show you what I mean shortly but there seems no way of making it 'forget' the 2 email address completely or to continue the installation. Any immediate thoughts before I go and grab the laptop and take some screen shots?

[Caveat - I am a basic user of windows]

When I go to add a new account, this page comes up:

And when you click through on it, the following happens.

There seems no way of making it forget this account for a fresh set up OR continuing with the set up of it. Frustrating!!

And the account in question is not in the list of accounts to manage:

eta - it's not under the email but under 'accounts used by other apps'

Ok you'll need to remove it from there and reboot I expect but once you've managed that you should be good to go

I will be incredibly happy if this works. Rebooting now...

We're getting there.

Now when I go to add an account, the option to choose the rogue account isn't there and I have to manually type it in and add a password. Then after a while it states 'There's already an account set up to use ***@hotmail.com (Hotmai)'

Any further thoughts?

Well that couldn't have been easier. All accounts set up within seconds on Outlook! No idea why I've not been using this to date.

Thanks so much for trying geeks, much appreciated.
