I am sure someone on here must know the answer to this query.....
I have PowerPoint 2019. When using presenter view, it only show the current slide and the next slide on my monitor. The older versions of PowerPoint uses to have several slides along the bottom, so I could click on one to jump backwards and forwards, if required. Is it possible to get this on the 2019 version? Can't find it myself.

I asked ChatGPT.

It came back with this. Not tried it so can't say but worth a punt.

"In PowerPoint 2019, the default Presenter View displays the current slide, your speaker notes, and a preview of the next slide. However, it doesn't display a strip of several slides along the bottom like some older versions of PowerPoint did. This change in the Presenter View design might be due to Microsoft's efforts to simplify the user interface and focus on key information.

If you prefer having a slide strip at the bottom for quick navigation during your presentation, you can try the following workaround:

Use Extended Desktop: Ensure that your computer is set up with an extended desktop, meaning you have two displays: one for the audience (typically a projector or external monitor) and one for your Presenter View.

Configure Presenter View Options:

Start your presentation as you normally would, by pressing F5 or clicking the "Slide Show" tab and then selecting "From Beginning."
When Presenter View starts on your secondary monitor, right-click anywhere on the screen.
In the context menu, you should see "Show Taskbar." Click on it to enable it.
Access Slide Strip:

With the taskbar now available on the secondary monitor (your Presenter View monitor), you can open the PowerPoint application from the taskbar.
Once PowerPoint is open on the secondary monitor, it should display the slides along the bottom.
Now, you should have a strip of several slides along the bottom for quick navigation, similar to older versions of PowerPoint.

Please note that this workaround is dependent on your system's configuration and may not work perfectly in all cases. It's always a good idea to practice your presentation setup before your actual presentation to ensure everything works as expected. Additionally, Microsoft's PowerPoint software may receive updates and changes over time, so newer versions or updates might introduce different features or changes to Presenter View."

Sounds like a recipe for disaster. I guess they removed the simple option then.

It's not exactly what you want but if you click the "X of Y" text in between the forward and backward buttons, or the "Show all slides" button then you'll get full screen slide picker view.

Thanks for that. I knew that bit already and it will have to be my fall back option I reckon.
