Second PAYG number on iPhone

Google is failing me,

I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max with a physical SIM card plan with Vodafone. I would like a second phone number for the same phone, PAYG.

Will a PAYG eSim work independently and concurrently in an iPhone? Will Text messages also work independently and concurrently? ShatsApp also?

I've got an e-sim and a physical in my iPhone - you can choose the line you want to use when making a call or sending a message. You can only have one number with WhatsApp though; the workaround here is to have WhatsApp for one line and WhatsApp Business for the other.
