Changing password on hotmail.com.

Firstly, I hope I'm posting in the correct thread and apologies if not.

I want to change the password for my hotmail.com account but I'm being asked to confirm this with a back up email address that's not available to me.

Any way I can get around this?

IIRC you can change it without a second address or mobile phone number but it means you have to wait for 30 days or thereabouts to gain access.

Do you want to change the password because you've forgotten it and aren't able to get into the account? Or are you able to log in?

If it's the latter, are you then able to add another verification email (one that you have access to?).

I've not forgotten the password so can still log in ok. It's just that every time I try to change a security question a default box appears which asks to send a code to the back up email address. Obviously, I don't want to go too far as I may lose access!
