Hi All,
My missus has an iPhone 11 with a Plusnet SIM card.
Whenever anyone calls her, the phone goes straight through to the answerphone; but if they call again immediately afterwards, the phone rings and she can answer it.
I can’t work out why the phone only works on the second call ? I can’t find a setting on her phone to change this issue - might it be something to do with Plusnet ?
Thank you for any guidance - best wishes to all.

Are the people calling listed in her contacts?
If not try settings-> phone -> silence unknown callers and check it’s turned off.
Or it could be a Focus setting - is “do not disturb” or similar turned on?

It looks like the "do not disturb" is turned on. It has an override that says if the same number calls twice within a short space of time it overrides and rings.
Thank you very much for your help - you were both correct, the Focus setting had been set to 'Do Not Disturb'.It was very quick to alter . . . I've learned something today - thank you !
