Hi,

I think my router may be on the blink but before I replace it was looking for any other things to try.

Summary of the situation :

1) 4G Router (TP_Link AC1200) on the EE Network - been getting speeds of 40-60Mbps download up until last week
2) Now from a wired connection from PC I get approx 8Mbps download speeds
3) Connecting my phone to the same router over wifi I get the same 8Mbps speed
4) Connecting my phone to EE directly and not via router I just got 38Mbps (from the same location as the router)

Resetting router to factory defaults has made no difference.

Any thoughts / things to try out most welcome!

Swap the SIMs? Maybe one of the services is throttled.

It could also be one of the wires from the router to the big wide world.
We had a problem that turned out to be the cable from our house to the nearest pole was getting chaffed by a tree.

Unlikely, what with it being a 4G router.

Heavy user? They could be throttling:

EE said:

Thanks all....

so as I type this :

1) PC wired connection to EE 4G router = 25Mbps download
2) iPhone connecting to EE 4G router over wifi = 20Mbps
3) iPhone connecting direct to EE 4G = 60Mbps download

So speeds on the 4G router are up from the poor 8Mbps (and less) that I've been getting recently but if my phone is getting 60Mbps I was hoping my router would deliver something in the same ballpark.

I've a case open with EE so will ask if my 4G router SIM is being throttled.

[Edited to Add] - swapped phone SIM into router and vice versa - no change in speeds as a result....
