Grrr....

Bought a 256Gb Samsung SD Card from Amazon, as I realised the 128Gb one I bought doesn't really hold enough footage from my drone. But I'm 99.9% sure it is a fake. I know I'm not the first, but bloody disappointing all the same.

The packaging is a different colour to the 128Gb (now chucked away) with a blue background instead of white, an d the card itself is marked as a Plus EVO, not an EVO Plus as seen on Samsung's site https://www.samsung.com/uk/memory-storage/memory-c... with the wrong font for the 256 as well as poor printing of the other text (it is still in the packaging so looks even worse). The edges of the 128GB are also white, rather than the black of the 256GB (apparently a very big clue to a fake Samsung card).

The card holder is totally different to the one I got with the 128GB, with very poor quality print:

Realised I bought from an Amazon reseller (I guess I can't ame them) and not Amazon themselves, but hopefully Amazon will refund without to much bother.

£25 on Samsung site - was there a big difference in price?

It was just over £15 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09FFD6R2B

The image on the listing is product correct - the font for the 256 is very different and the EVO Plus naming is the correct one in the image

Just return it.

And flag to Amazon that it's fake.

Yep, I've started the return, but there doesn't seem to be an option to report a counterfeit item. You can report copyright infringements etc., but I couldn't find an easy way to report a counterfeit

Flag it as a copyright infringement then. It's close enough

Tried that, but you need to be the copyright holder or their agent. I’m neither.

I suspect Amazon aren’t that interested anyway. At least they are great at refunding…

I recently bought a 512 off Scan.co.uk (never used before but seem rated)

I have a photo of it handy, purely as I had to laugh at the co2 neutral delivery and the insane amount of packaging for something smaller than my fingernail!!!!!

I haven’t used it properly yet as I bought it for a steam deck that I returned, it worked temporarily in that.

I have a drone too - DJi mini 2, will 512 be too big I wonder?

That is crazy packaging!

Looks like the 128Gb one I initially bought, which I think is real.

I’ve bought this one now, as it is actually being sold by Amazon directly and will arrive tomorrow

I’m reasonably sure on all the different options for reasons to return, there is a box to type in additional information.
