Twitter/X using loads of battery in backgound - anyone else?

Is anyone else seeing this? Since Space Karen updated Twitter to X it is using massive amounts of battery in the background and I'm having to charge my iPhone 12 twice a day.

That's 123 hours of battery usage in the last 5 days.

Dunno. I saw the rebranding and decided it was fine to uninstall it.

I didn't fancy being an unpaid beta tester for a billionaire, partially because the approach has been to rush out stupid, ill-considered, and untested features, which could easily lead to problems like this.

You disable background updates (to save both data and power) on an app-by-app basis.

It was doing the same on my 13PM - deleted it and made a noticeable difference

Twitter can be used on a browser if you need to use it in the meantime.
