Geniune looking email enquiries hosted with Gandi.net?
Discussion
I thought here might be a better place to ask.
One of my friends businesses keeps getting email enquires that on the surface look very genuine asking for prices and capacity, but when you look at the domain they are non-UK urls hosted with gandi.net (this is for a small event business so only ever based in the UK).
Its a physical business, with payment prior to delivery etc, so not sure what the possible angle could be if it was a fraud attempt? Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this?
TIA

In the header of the email should be
Header Address
Envelope Address
Subject
time/date
As a basic rule of thumb if the header address and envelope address match its more likely to be genuine. If not which I suspect is the case (envelope address is hosted at gandi?) Then its a bulk/spam email.
The evelope address is the harder one to fake, and is the actual address of where the email came from.
