Importing lidar data into CAD

Can anyone advise a way to get lidar Data from the Environment Agency or Data.Gov website into an autocad programme.
We have Autocad as well as Civils.

I'd even settle for lidar data as a PDF and import it as an underlay.
However it would be nice to understand how to bring the height data in, so I can see it relative to ordnance survey information.

Any help appreciated.

Are you planning on using it as a 3D model?

Last time I had to do anything like this, I was supplied a PDF from a topographical assessment and dropped that straight into NX as line data.

I'm happy for it to be used 2D
I need to look at the historic Lidar data relative to a recently taken topographical survey.
