Icloud mail problem

Hi folks,

Need to find the most sensible solution here! Mum frequently does the pensioner thing of losing emails. Generally they come back. However, this time I think, somehow, she has deleted her entire inbox on Icloud. She has been getting het up about junk email recently so has also cleared the bin.

Ive looked and i cannot find any messages older than 3 weeks. Not even via web version. There are loads of old receipts and documents she needs.

I have found her old iPad which has powered up. It’s probably not been used for 2-3 years but does have a lot of emails on it. Once I established this I turned it straight off.

Whats the most sensible way forward? I was considering doing a reset on her current iPad and restoring it from most recent backup of old one. Or can i just back it up now? There won’t be particularly recent ones but it’s better than nowt. Just don’t want to let it sync and lose everything else!

Any other suggestions welcome.

I'm pretty sure things deleted from iCloud can be restored within 30 days, not sure if that applies to emails if the trash can has been emptied?

I’ve had a good look and there’s nowhere they can be. Plus she didn’t tell me about this terribly promptly!

this is an @icloud email address? Have you checked in the Archive folder? Or Bin folder?

Someone I know had this exact issue last week. They deleted the account from their phone and reactivated it again. All the older emails reappeared as they were still on the iCloud server.

Thanks, I’ve logged on the web version and nothing is there, even in archive or bin!
