Monitor pixelated following attaching a different laptop

If anyone has any bright ideas much appreciated. I use a second screen on my laptop for work. I’ve used that screen on my son’s laptop today and when I’ve reverted back to my normal laptop it’s quite pixelated. I’ve checked the resolution, it’s on the ‘recommended’ setting and selecting any of the alternatives makes it worse. I’ve played around for ages with brightness / sharpness/ contrast settings to no avail. Am I missing something obvious?

Factory reset the monitor? Should be available from the OSD.
