The Mrs has just got a new tablet and it's running Android 12.
Looking on the Web I'm finding lots of techy sites reviewing A12 and getting all excited about how it's all new, has new colours and has ditched buttons in favour of more swiping motions.
Can I find anything telling me what these new swipes are or how the system works? Can I f**k.
Anyone know of any online resources explaining A12?
I need help, the wife's swearing is becoming traumatic and pretty soon it will all be my fault!

You probably don't want to hear this but 13 is the latest version. What brand is it, there is a possibility it might auto update to 13.

Oh Lord no, that'll just set the swearing back to square 1.

It's called gesture control. I've been using it on my pixel phone and it's pretty good IMHO

In a nutshell:

Swipe from left side of screen towards the middle to go back.

Swipe up from the middle of the home screen to access the app drawer.

Swipe up from bottom of screen to return to the home screen.

Swipe up from bottom of screen and hold your thumb/finger in place on screen for a brief moment to access recently used apps menu.

Or you can revert to the onscreen three button system if you find the option in settings.

Android 14 is due out later in the year, in reality though only current high end phones/Google One/Google Pixel devices will get that.

Tablets might get Android 13 update eventually, but most seem to have poor support.

My Samsung Galaxy S7+ has got v13.

But I use Nova Launcher, so I've been using gesture control for ages.

It is locked to a mobile provider? Maybe they delay sw updates.

My Galaxy S8 phone (Vodafone) is still on v9.

Nope unlocked, I will check it when he gets home, it might even be Android 9.
