On Friday I ordered an LG Ultrafine 4k Monitor from Amazon, £325.

It's arrived today, and there's both a horizontal and vertical line on the panel. I've tried multiple sources, different cables and different inputs but the lines are still there.

My only option with Amazon seems to be to return the item for a refund, which is fair enough, but when I've gone to order the monitor again, it's now £399 instead of the £325 I paid only on Friday.

Other than returning the faulty monitor and sucking up the price different, do I have any other options. If I contact Amazon customer service are they likely to offer an exchange? Can I raise the issue with the manufacturer and will they fix it?

It's worth a shot with customer services, try the chat function.

Via your order you can request they ring you - which they do instantly.

I had a faulty freeview box a while ago. The next day one van arrived with a new box and 30 minutes later another van arrived to take my old one away.

You don't have to have a refund and then order a new one; they just replace it.

I'll try speaking with Amazon and see what options they can provide.

I've checked this morning, and the monitor is no longer available.

I spoke with Amazon, and because the item came from the warehouse, they can only offer a return and refund.

They've offered a partial refund of £65 if I want to keep it as it is.

I'll contact LG and see if they can do anything. I could be an option to take the partial refund and then send it to LG for repair.

I've bought few items in the past which were 'cheap', as soon as I have tried to order again the price has gone up, they suck you in with a 'bargain' then try and stuff you.

LG have raised a repair so I'll send it back to them and take a partial refund from Amazon.

Entirely up to you old bean, however you're keeping a monitor which has now cost you £250 and has a faulty display???

Rather than paying an extra £70 for a perfect one???

Am I missing something obvious???

Yes, he's going to only pay £260 compared to £399 and LG are going to repair it for free.

^this.

It's a third monitor, so I can do without it while it's getting repaired.

Got the repaired unit back from LG and now the backlight on one of the screen isn't working.
