Hi folks.

Tried searching the web but all I get is countless stuff about being unable to mirror cast from phone to telly AT ALL.

New Chromecast which all seems to work and I can screen mirror my phone as before but if I use any streaming site, inc Prime, Netflix etc I can see the home page via a mirror image of my phone on my plasma but once I hit play on any video I just see the back/forward and how long running icons on the telly whilst the film is still running on my phone.

Streaming works fine from the icons on the actual telly but not when mirror cast.

All worked before on my very old Chromecast until it gave up after ten years.

Any ideas folks? Cheers.

Just to add. I've tried de powering everything and even taken the Netflix app off the Chromecast, incase there was some kind of clash.

So I see my phone on the telly, I'm seeing this post on the telly but start video and I see it on the phone but only the audio comes out of the telly, and the icons and even who is in the scene. Very odd.

Even odder.

The dodgy we can show you any film you like site which my son has just pinged me, does work via Screen Mirror.

So Netflix and it's family subscription can FRO if I can't get the legal way to work soon.

Some apps/streaming sites have protection on them so won't let you mirror cast.
I know Sky Go do this.

You can sign into the apps on your Chromecast using your usual login details and watch that way.

Dodgy film sites will let you mirror cast as they don't run this protection.

Ah thanks. Good to know.

No one in the family knows the Netflix passwords and user name. Everyone is signed in including on my phone so can use it but the only person that set it up is very ill and can't remember and is it not a state to do the whole forgotten password thing.

On my previous Chromecast you could just cast Netflix no problem even to a telly in a hotel. Either by the normal way or using screen mirroring.

Cheers though.

If you are on Android you can easily see what all your saved login/passwords are for the various apps/sites that are on your device from settings and password manager.

Seems it only lists my saved passwords, Netflix not listed along with many others.

Seems I had an AOL account though smile
