I am pretty sure there was a relevant thread here recently but cannot find it.

Does anyone recommend any reputable sites online (incl Amazon) for replacement cartridges?

Specifically in this case, for a HP DeskJet 2710e.

Feel free to post sites for other printer manufacturers smile

There's one third party make I bought several times via Amazon but can't see any listing for your model. I started buying the official HP black/colour as there was hardly anything in the price, a pound or two, and as I'd heard of compatibility issues happening more often.

How much do you print? if it's just occasional printing and not hundreds of pages a month, to be honest you might as well sign up to HP Instant Ink - I switched to it years ago and haven't bought a cartridge since. Unfortunately the prices increased last year, but for me it's still a good deal. I usually go through three sets a year and they just turn up in the post when needed - at ~£36 a year on the 50 pages pm rate, its at least a 25 quid saving on three sets of even 3rd party cartridges.

I buy refills from Cartridge Save, have done for years. They have been really good and seem cheap enough too.

I use stinkyink.com for my Epson and have had no problems.

Thanks peeps

I ordered the lesser HP original multipack from Amazon for £19.

Not really much in the way of savings to be had from third parties which surprised me.

Mind it's not connected to the internet, some download firmwares to block it. My gran has to press X on her canon every time she turns it on (and I disconnected it from the wifi) so it stays on the firmware version that her hooky cartridges work fine with

HP has had multiple issues with this - refiiled carts were blocked by default, then the block was removed by a firmware upgrade after they got fined in some countries but recently (a month or two ago?) I read they'd put it back again.
