Just been looking on eBay and prices are crackers !
Anyone know where I might get hold of a working old IBM Compat that has a board with an ISA slot ?
Wow, ISA brings back memories. Not all good ones. What are you doing with it??Anyone know where I might get hold of a working old IBM Compat that has a board with an ISA slot ?
If you're trying to run very old ISA hardware, you can get USB-ISA converters, that may be an easier route.

I’ll probably sell it but fancied putting a test machine together for old times sake.

Bit more than I wanted to pay really …. My thought was pick a 486 up for 50 quid but they are daft money. I’ll keep an eye open for an early Pentium which maybe a better price.Would just be nice to see it running….. I’ve dug my Quem disks out

I have an old Roland SCC-1 that belonged to a mate was stuck in a box in a cupboard I was slightly surprised to see them sell for around 500 quid !

The price of the Roland card and the price of a PC that it will fit in are related to each other. The retro market seems to have gone completely mad.I’ll probably sell it but fancied putting a test machine together for old times sake.

What are people doing with these old PCs? They are the sort of thing that would have been chucked in a skip 20 years ago as they were outdated and useless.Anyone know where I might get hold of a working old IBM Compat that has a board with an ISA slot ?

Maybe because so many were binned they are rare now.
I would love to create one of my early machines maybe with a Voodoo 2 and Matrox Millenium.

The "Vintage Computers" FB group has a lot of this kind of stuff, when I was expecting to see Z80 stuff from the seventies.I'm sure I have a HP Vectra somewhere with a few ISA cards in it - they did a version with an extra little board. I don't know where it's gone, I haven't thrown it out.

I've got an old Lian Li pc case (one of the old early-2000s chunky aluminium ones) that I'm told is worth a fair bit these days... TBH apart from the absence of rainbow vomit and rubber teatowel holders everywhere there's no real way to tell it's a 20 year old case Vs the designs of today.
Get yourself to the local tip. I was at mine yesterday and there were a load of old PCs that had been dumped along with lots of other white goods - most will let you either take / recycle something for free or a small charge.
I picked up a “flower” iMac from mine a year or so ago, for free, that ran perfect and even had the full apple keyboard, mouse and power leads!

At a 10 minute glance, all I could find was this motherboard with a single ISA slot for £45.
