Just installed 3x M4 WiFi extenders across cottage and all working ok.
However if I have the radio on in the kitchen and on in the garden using Bluetooth off my phone there’s a delay.
About 3 minutes which is a lot more than I would expect.
Any clues?

You have a regular FM/DAB radio on in the kitchen? Or are you streaming the radio in the kitchen over the internet?

There is often a delay when streaming over the internet, same if you stream 'live' TV, often the stream is 'buffered' to avoid drop outs

That's it. If I turn the Alexa off and put the DAB radio on in a different room, the song seems to either be repeated or to have jumped forward three minutes. Can't remember which way round!

As above....

Digital radio is always behind FM - which is much more 'live'. I have always thought it due to the digital signal bouncing of satellites - hence the delay. But this is probably wrong. smile

I normally have BBC R4 in the kitchen on Sonos - it's anything from 30 seconds to 2 minutes behind the FM broadcast. The pips for the time signals are a good indication.

Yes there is a delay on regular broadcast DAB and FM, the DAB is often a few seconds behind the FM broadcast.

Same with Terrestrial TV and satellite TV, a few seconds delay..

There is a few seconds delay on HD broadcasts and standard def on the same receiver.

When I go to watch a test match I listen to Test Match Special with a small pocket radio. One time I took a small pocket DAB radio instead of my Roberts Sportsman. Never again! The players had taken a run before the sound of ball on bat was on the radio.

So you're streaming radio on an Alexa in the kitchen and streaming on your phone in the garden. What apps are you using? If you are using a different app on each device then that may cause an issue. Also internet streams 'buffer' to avoid drop outs, this causes a delay in the stream.

BBC Sounds through Alexa in the kitchen Sonos Show, my phone same app but use Bluetooth to garden speakers.
Go in the cottage for a wee come out, and the next record will be Gary Newman Cars lol!!
