Also a VR room and a Café.

£7 entry

You can also see the old steam engine at certain times which is well worth a look.

Get in touch with RMC Retro (https://www.retrocollective.co.uk/) .. I'm sure he would be willing to do a video on your place or at least give it a plug.

I'm only down the road so I'll bring my son up at some point. Have you got a Facebook presence or anything like that?

I like it but I think our webber needs to make it faster to get to the info and give it lots of pictures and videos etc.

Its been a hectic time since January.

I can't keep my spare room tidy, it has two CBM 8050 disk drives in bits across the floor, but I think I am one IC away from having them both working.

The VR stuff is fun but can make you feel a little sick

The BBC micro's, I think we have every game under the sun for them. They all have a SD card interface plugged in so you can scroll through pages of them and choose the one you want.

Daredevil Dennis?

By the way - assuming your surname begins with a C - is it 8 letters?

Nah, only 5

But yes, we have Daredevil Dennis.

Arcadians is my favourite, followed by Meteors

Elite is good, but I play that at home where my machine has the second 6502 processor.

Ah - thought you were somebody I knew of - but clearly not.

Look forward to coming over shortly and having a go on Chuckie Egg! I did some work with Nigel Alderton many many years ago.

We are open Wednesdays to Sunday 10 till 4

The heritage centre though is only open Saturday 10-3 (and 10-3 on Tuesdays) - worth a look if you like steam engines.

Recapping is not often necessary with the BBC PSU, what you must do is remove the two RIFA capacitors, but they are only mains filters and are not needed for the PSU itself. They were to stop interference with TV's and radio.

We have 10 model B's and three masters and everyone smoked their RIFA's but all the other electrolytic's work fine.

Infact, I really dont like this modern 'recapping' fad. Most machines are fine, of the 30 plus machines I own, I have had to replace capacitors on a Sharp MZ80K and an Apple ][.
Mains filters on the later Commodore PET's (in metal tubes) are also a target for instant removal because they can go off like a small cannon.

Apart from 90's Apple SMT capacitors, they are all crap smile

Ah that’s it, I was giving a lazy response in remembering what failed in the beeb supply! I have a pile of expensive vintage analog synths here and am well aware that the “recap it!” answer is rarely the right one!!

Rest assured I’ll be getting it done by a pro at any rate. My own soldering is barely fit for purpose - which I really need to sort out, as synth techs ain’t cheap biggrin
