I've been a Virgin Mobile customer for years and never really had any issues with them.

Wife & all 4 kids have Virgin Mobile monthly contracts and as part of the Virgin Giga Volt internet thing, that came with an O2 Sim card which I bunged in an old iPhone as a spare so I'm now on the way to 6 O2 contracts.

I set my first one up on "My O2" with my email address and was all pleased ready to have the Virgin numbers migrated over.

(Virgin Mobile as you may know have a primary account holder dashboard where I had all the numbers in one place so I could see all the contract dates, upgrade prompts, kids data usage, overspends, top ups if needed etc.)

Spoke with O2 last night asking about this function and apparently it doesn't exist. At all. Full stop. "It used to sir but we stopped it because of fraud".

Every phone contract I have going to them now needs a unique email address for me to manage it online so I'm going to have to make new email addresses and have 6 different log ins.

What a faff!

(I know a "proper" PH rant is supposed to have sweary bits)

I left O2 recently due to shocking data speeds. I'd been with them over ten years and recently they were slower and slower. I found out that it was because they had merged with Virgin Mobile, so the towers were overloaded all over the place. So it seems weird they can't do list all your numbers under one account.

I moved to EE and am regularly getting data speeds ten times faster.

The Virgin internet we have when over Ethernet gives me 1100mb...wi fi less so around the house but that's a different issue.

O2 are only handling the mobile contracts.

If it weren't for the fact that I have 6 of the buggers and 2 recently upgraded, I'd move the lot.

It might well come to that in the coming months.

When you need unique email addresses, is the +xxx trick with gmail good enough?

It'll pretty much be that, yes.

It's a first world problem for sure but a PITA none the less.

virgin didn’t run their own network, they were an MVNO of EE initially, then later on Vodafone, just prior to the merger with O2.

O2 do network share the towers with Vodafone but speed impact will be on a site by site basis.

I've been with O2 for years and I pay my kids contracts and I can still see them all under my main email address.
