Well, other people log in, it seems, they've probably changed the password, as I can't change it when I enter mine, and when I say "send code to my email" nothing arrives, suggesting that's been changed too.

Naturally I've been on to twitter support, who just send the same automated email replies.

I can't tell what the mysterious account user is doing. I've deleted all previous posts, unfollowed everyone, so there's not a lot there. I've changed the screen name to "hacked account". I will keep on at support, but anything else I should be doing?

Use 2fa going forward on your other accounts along with changing the passwords

Well it took 3 days but I finally have the account back.

Now to delete it, I've hardly used it for months anyway, not a personal smite on Musk, just the search went crappy and content I'd like seems much harder to find.

I've had an account for a long while, hardly used it, then one day I try to log on and find someone else is using it , posting and everything, couldn't understand how, but changed the password and locked them out.

I use it now as I follow quite a few people, and not had an issue since, but can't understand how someone could just take over an account.

I wouldnt recommend 2fa on Twitter.

They have played with SMS sending recently so codes are not sent and you cant turn it off without having valid 2FA, and so locked out. It also kicks you out on web and app - so would have to revert to a tweetdeck authed user to post.

The platform is going to st.
