Buying a screen from Aliexpress

I want to upgrade my backup laptop Lenovo T440p by changing the screen to a 1920x1080 IPS screen & the Innolux N140HCG-GQ2 seems to be the most highly regarded option by those who have already done this. I can't find anyone in the UK who says they supply the Innolux; they are are all described as "compatible" & since the quality of the screen is the important factor I'm reluctant to risk it. It might work, but that doesn't mean it looks good.

There's a seller on Aliexpress who has a good reputation for shipping the Innolux panel but if I order form them will I get hit with Duty & VAT when it's imported? I suspect I will.

From my experience Aliexpress adds the taxes at checkout so when it lands you pay no import fees or charges.

From (I think) the end of 2020, AliExpress started adding VAT etc to all purchases from the UK, which meant there was no duty to pay on import.

Which was a shame because often my stuff would not be picked up, but I suspect that is why it happened, too many people were buying from them!

Costs phone them to confirm if they will provide an actual Innolux panel.

Thanks everyone, I'll risk it & hope I don't get hit with extra charges.

The UK supplier linked to would only commit to a "compatible" of rather unknown provenance & couldn't supply the mounting brackets either.
