Epic games via sky broadband

So tonight Mrs boy has not been able to play games on epic games.

Tried all usual stuff then noticed that if I go on an Internet browser either on his computer or indeed any phone In the house, type in epic games then try and click on it to get to home page it won't open.

If I turn WiFi off on the phones and use mobile data I'm on the home screen straight away.

We have Internet with sky. Anyone any ideas please ?

You don't have parental controls blocking it due to a mis-configuration, or anything like that do you?

Sounds like a dns lookup issue, try changing the dns server on his pc & see if that resolves it, if it does you can change the dns server in the sky firewall/router/switch/wireless-accesspoint box.



If you want to prove that it’s dns related you can use the command below from the windows cmd line to test using your current & an alternative dns server.

Try rebooting the router to make it select a different IP and try again. Check the router before and after to see if a different IP is being used.
