2018 intel mac air / ventura power save wake takes aaaages

anyone else having an issue that started recently where wake from power save / display off mode takes a long time? It could be a connectivity issue but when i wake it, it takes so long refreshing emails and messages in certain apps and things. Even if browser it takes sometimes 30 seconds to refresh all my new emails in outlook.com.
