No, it doesn’t work. It’s the Netflix app preventing it, not the connection.

Why not just use the Netflix app on the AppleTV?

I think the restriction is built into the app and it might also block playback via the usb-c connection as well (so essentially Netflix restrict you to watching on the ipad only). I might be wrong, but that's the issue I had last year when trying to do the same but with NowTV.

You could always just install the Netflix app on the AppleTV...

That works really well too!

If you install the VPN on your router you can use the appleTV with it.

It depends on the router. Which one do you have? I have the default Sky router and it is pretty basic so you can't use a VPN on it.

It works really well at slowing down all of your internet facing traffic.

Equally annoying is that you can't cast Sky Go onto your TV or display via usb-c to HDMI cable due to the app preventing it.

Yes that’s pretty irritating, probably to stop password sharing and keep it to device only.

Oddly, it works with your PC via HDMI. Just not the tablet due to app restrictions. Seems very spiteful as the app is much more stable than the PC version!

Have you tried putting the app on the TV?
