iPad files constantly dropping connection
Discussion
Can anyone help here. I have set up a file server of images that I want to view but not modify on my IPad, set this up in files, eventually got everything to work. Next day it is unable to connect, or shows the file share as empty. Doing a hard reset on the IPad seems to be the only way to get access back.
I know, silly me for expecting anything Apple to work with anything non Apple.

More silly expecting anyone to offer any advise without giving any details of the setup.I know, silly me for expecting anything Apple to work with anything non Apple.
What is the "file server"?
What software is it running?
What protocol are you using to connect?
etc.

File server is a Synology NAS using standard Synology software. It’s set to have a fixed address. What is the "file server"?

Running on a home network over Wi-Fi
iPad 5th gen.
Vodaphone supplied router.
I’m fine with most PC setups, but networking has always been a black art, nothing ever seems to be as simple as it should be.
Basically all I want to do is view a pile of photos located on the NAS drive on my iPad, why is this not a simple process? And why once I’ve got it working does it stop working shortly later.

Download the DSfile App and go from there.
Works every time on my iPad / iPhone / Windows laptop.

Or DSPhoto if it’s specifically a photo viewing / sharing.

I new it would be something simple but poorly explained, typical networking.
