Oppo X5 Pro

My P30 Pro is amazing, it really is, but it's showing its age lately and the battery isn't quite what it used to be - I've been looking at alternatives and the Samsungs just don't do it for me but the Oppo X5 Pro seems to be a decent looking phone

Has anyone got one and can pass judgement on it at all?

I can only vouch for the X2 pro but it has been excellent and I would happily stick with Oppo, to the point where I am considering importing an X6 pro.

I was tempted to upgrade to the X5 pro but the X6 is on another level.

ETA - Just looked up the X6 and its specs look pretty good, I think I'll be discounting the X5 though as the X6 camera has the zoom that my P30 Pro has which is missing on the X5...

I've had my X5 pro just over a year, bought new when released. Up to now it has been the best phone I have ever owned. Been seriously contemplating an X6 pro when released BUT it would have to be far superior to the X5 pro for me to consider an upgrade.

What's the camera like? The X6 seems to have a periscope zoom which the X5 doesn't..

I was looking at the X5 but decided to get the Reno8 Pro from Oppo, the super charging from Oppo is brilliant, my phone can go from completely flat to 100% in less than 30 minutes.

X5 Pro camera is very good, however the X6 Pro has the Sony imx 989 1" sensor which is superior to the X5 Pro. As far as I can see that is the only benefit over the X5 Pro.

If the camera is a big thing for you OP, what about a Google Pixel 6 or 7 Pro, I went from a P30 Pro to a 6 Pro 18m ago, it's a fantastic bit of kit, pure Android and a fantastic camera.

It is what I'm after really - that said, my sister has a 7 pro and neither she nor I are overly impressed. The problem is the high bar the p30 pro has set

What I genuinely don't get is the price of phones - they all seem to be at apple levels nowadays...

The 6Pro camera is in a different league to the P30 camera.

Zoom is great, 30x I think but very clear and easy to focus, no macro on the 6 Pro, however I think the 7 Pro does, wide seems fine to me, however I rarely use it and TBH I've not a great deal to compare it with.

Overall I'm extremely happy with my Pixel, people always comment on the pictures.

The wife has an S23 Ultra coming today, it'll be interesting to compare.

If photography is going to be one of the main selling points then you need to seriously consider the phones China are producing with the Sony 1 inch sensor.

From reviews the S23 Ultra vs the Pro 7 is marginal, pitting the Ultra as the better overall package, however it is serious amount of wedge more and it certainly doesn't blow the Pixel away.
