Best Photoshop Alternative - Ipad
Discussion
I’ve just bought an iPad Pro 6th Gen 12.9” and I‘m just in the process of building up my stock apps and want to find a good Photoshop alternative.
I’m quite happy to pay an upfront purchase, but don’t think I’d get enough use to justify the monthly subscription with Adobe.
As I’m sure there will be a bit of a learning curve with this type of app I don’t want to waste time on a duffer, so looking for recommendations from those already using them.
I’m not a professional, so it will be mostly for personal photos and some messing about, however I am hoping to get something with a good set of features similar to PS. Is this possible for up to £50?

Worth looking at Affinity Photo. One-off payment, no subscription model. Looks like they are offering a 30 day trial so you can see how you get on with it.

I had their DTP package, PagePlus, back in the day and the company seems to have some integrity with good clear pricing.

I'll second Affinity Photo. If you are at all familiar with the Photoshop interface, Affinity's should cause few problems.
I've used it since Beta, and am now on Affinity Photo 2, so I may be a bit biased. There used to be a 30-day trial period so there's nothing stopping you giving it a go. I paid £35 for the first incarnation, way back in 2016 or so. Six years later, I had to fork out £45. Not exorbitant pricing.
In my experience, it's the equal of Photoshop in almost all areas, and in some, it is better, and it is not just pricing which makes it so. I'll not go back.
The Persona method of dividing particular types of function is intuitive. The same arrangement is used in Resolve Studio video editing.

I’ve looked over Affinity Photo but only because I already have PS CS6.
It should be everything you need and more, and clearly shows how much premium you pay for PS sub today, for what is broadly the same as it was 25 years ago in a lot of the cure functionality.
Unless there is something very specific in PS that you’d need, it doesn’t warrant the ongoing cost.
