Hi all

Ive got 2 TCP Smart Plugs and a TCP Smart Bulb.
I can set them up so they work with Echodot/alexa ok. I can say alexa hall light on/off and all works nicely.

I want to set both of the plugs up to work with Siri on iPad as well if I could.
I can switch the plugs on and off from the TCP app on my iPad. I just want voice control as well.

I've never used Siri before this. Tried to have a go using the "Home" app but couldnt get it to find any of the TCP smart things.

Do I have to put the TCP plugs into "pairing" mode again first? If I do this will Echodot/alexa then lose the connection to that device?

Thanks for any tips.

Your devices don't appear to be compatible with Homekit so it's not as stroaghtforqard as it could be.

They do however claim to support Siri Shortcuts so it should be possible with some fiddling

See here for details https://www.imore.com/can-i-use-siri-control-non-h...

I had the same issue early on with smarthome stuff so decided to go with GoogleHome compatible devices as they offered better value than HomeKit and then just use GoogleHome on my apple devices

The fly in this ointment is that my home security cameras (Netatmo Presence units) are both HomeKit and GoogleHome compatible so are accessible on both which is really handy as I can access them live from my AppleTVs too.

I have a TCP socket that I control with Siri, I had to set up a Siri short cut, can't remember how I did it but info was all online, works ok for me, "living room on", "living room off" etc.

Have a look at something called Hoobs - it connects all your devices to Siri etc.

Could you not install the Alexa app on to the iPad?

I can (already have it) but will I not then have to say something like - "Siri ask alexa to turn on the light"? (Which would be fine I guess)

Cheers.

As I posted above, I have one working with Siri, you need to set up a short cut.
