Gaming pad help!
Discussion
Hi All, I need some help with a pad that my son will be using for gaming.
Currently, he uses his Samsung A12 for playing on Roblox and the like, but it's slow, and he ends up using my Samsung S20. My phone has the Snapdragon 865, and his has the Helio P35. Mine has 6gb of RAM vs his 2.
So, at this point, I should mention I know f-all about this stuff, so the info above might mean a load of ste for gaming speed. But, if not, here's my thinking...
To stop my phone being nicked, I will buy him a pad for his birthday (easier for the eyes with the larger screen, too). For my budget, I have narrowed it down to a Xaiomi Pad 5 (Snapdragon 860, 6gb ram, 128gb), or the other option is the iPad 10.2 2021 model (A13 Bionic chipset, 3gb ram, 64gb).
Everything on paper would suggest the Xaiomi will be quicker for gaming, but all the forums still maintain the iPad is superior.
Is this just an apple fanboy attitude taking over forums, or is there some special sauce that makes their seemingly lower-specced pad quicker for gaming duties that the Xaiomi?
Any help would be very, very welcome.

There is a lot at play when it comes to managing the memory and optimisation of the apps to run on the available resources.
I'm not familiar with the game or its needs but you could also consider the iPad will have much better GPU capabilities knowing how Apple develop their chips.
Consider looking at Apple refurbished hardware also and don't be afraid of sites like Backmarket and Music Magpie.
