I would like to watch Utube while in my camper van and thought that I could connect my smart phone to the non smart TV with a USB and a C adaptor but it does not work It looks like the phone needs to support DP Alt mode [what ever that means] My phone is a Galaxy A20e and does not. Is there another way I could watch Utube via the phone oo TV?

You could stick a Chromecast dongle in your TV and cast stuff from your phone.

Does your TV support Miracast or any type of screen mirroring ?

Using the phone as its own wifi hotspot? Not sure if that will work.

Buy an android TV box.
£40 will get you a decent one that will play any video and will have YouTube and other apps on it. Will allow casting too.

They are a lesser product, I can plug hard drives into my android box and it can use a lot more software and they are just as easy to use.

That should work fine. The phone will stream over 4/5G and use wifi in ad-hoc mode to connect to the TV and cast the show to it. No need to connect the TV to the phone's wifi hotspot.

Thanks guys I think the Chrome cast option will be the simplest for me.
